The MatrixEMM ™ (energy monitoring and management) is Power Innovations’ answer to the age old problem of monitoring and managing the status of individual batteries, for the Q-LS Series only. This system enables a user to easily gather information on a series or on individual batteries. With the information gathered, problems can be anticipated and corrected quickly.
The Q-Series MatrixEMM ™ provides battery monitoring and management of batteries for the Q-LS Series line of UPQTM systems and provides the following features:
· Individual battery statistics
· Voltage
· Failure / OK
· Battery pack temperature
· Current flow (charge or discharge)
· Current rate
· Overall voltage
· Overall capacity remaining
· Estimated time remaining
· Printable reporting
· UPQnet-Agent II compatible for remote monitoring
The Q-LS MatrixEMM ™ utilizes a series of detecting units that are attached to each individual battery. The detecting units are then linked together in series to the central monitor from which data on the batteries can be gathered (up to 64 detecting units may be used with one central monitor).
The system also has audible alarms that indicate when abnormal situations occur (i.e., battery failure, abnormal cable connections, or a battery charge less than preset values).
The Q-LS MatrixEMM ™ also incorporates active cell voltage regulation into its battery management in order to equalize individual battery voltage across a battery array. This regulation balances the charging current, which minimizes the possibility of overheating of individual batteries in a pack and helps the batteries to age at a uniform rate.
