LINDON, Utah, March 31, 2008 – Power Innovations hit the road this month, attending three conferences to showcase its mobile power products, the AMPS™ (Auto Regulated Motion Power System™) and the PowerHawk®, a mobile power vehicle.
On March 4th and 5th, Power Innovations was at the Western States Sheriff’s Conference in Reno, Nevada. Over 200 sheriffs and other law enforcement officials from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Oregon, and Washington attended.
“The show was a success! Every sheriff we talked with was impressed with the innovative AMPS™ technology. They expressed their power problems. They need quality mobile power in emergency situations and we can meet those needs!” says Kevin B. Gardner, Program Manager for AMPS and PowerHawk.
Next Power Innovations was invited to participate in an emergency preparation seminar in Ogden. Both the PowerHawk vehicle and the AMPS (installed in a vehicle) were on display. The seminar was provided by the Texas Engineering Extension Office, in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security.
“We were able to explain to various city officials responsible for planning for emergency situations that the AMPS converts energy created by a custom designed alternator, into clean, reliable power regardless of the rotational input. This unique technology has them excited. When we told them that the system can be installed in any vehicle or boat with a combustion engine, providing 5 kVA (4,000 watts), they were even more impressed,” says Ted Beckham, Vice President of Sales.
The Utah Chief’s of Police Association Conference held March 25th to 26th in St George was the last stop of the month. The PowerHawk, a mobile power vehicle, was on display, as well as the AMPS.
“The PowerHawk has numerous applications. One application of the PowerHawk is that it is designed to assist emergency response teams in the event of a major emergency or disaster by providing up to 50 kVA (40,000 watts) of scalable power to run a rescue base station, back sensitive equipment in a hospital, or run a remote military operation,” says Gardner.
The PowerHawk can be used in any operation where mobile, versatile, quality power is needed. Applications include construction projects, fuel pumps, water pumps, 400 Hz aircraft power, homes, wildfire fighting, and utility fleets.
AMPS applications include aircraft, commercial boating, fuel pumps, recreational watercraft, emergency fleet vehicles, commercial fleet vehicles, construction projects, wildfire fighting, coast guard emergencies, search and rescue, police operations, communication trucks, recreational vehicles, national security, and any situation where mobile power is needed.
