Robert L. Mount - President / CEO / Chairman of the Board
Robert has been involved in business development and management for 25 years. His background is in electrical engineering, marketing, and sales. He has founded four companies and managed them all at some stage. All of these companies are still active and currently doing business. He has also been on the boards of directors for four significant companies. For several years, Robert has consulted for many large corporations in the areas of management and administration, strategic planning, marketing, sales, and systems. His consulting clients include Disney, Novell, Signetics (Phillips), JC Penney, and WordPerfect. Robert is keenly aware of opportunities and has a strong propensity towards strategic implementation of ideas and programs. Mr. Mount is also an experienced marketer and is excellent at determining proper and strategic placement of marketing funds. |  |
Lynn Barney - Financial, Director
Lynn brings many years of financial corporate and banking experience to Power Innovations. Lynn received both his BA and MBA with honors by 1973. Lynn then spent seven years with Zions First National Bank in Management, and as an officer. He left Zions Bank at the height of his career to start his own banking business. Lynn became the founder, president and CEO of Cottonwood Security Bank. The bank turned profitable in the third month of operation.
Lynn also served as the president and CEO of Ion Laser Technology for eleven years. During his tenure with this public company, he raised over $10 million and moved the company’s stock from trading on the over-the-counter pink sheets to the full-list of the American Stock Exchange. Today, Lynn invests in real estate, and high-tech companies, which includes Power Innovations, with the intent of increasing shareholder value.

Evan Schmutz - Legal Counsel, Director
Mr. Schmutz is currently a partner and supervising director of the law firm Hill, Johnson & Schmutz. Evan has nearly 25 years of legal experience, serving emerging and established businesses, as well as non-profit and charitable entities. Evan's practice areas include commercial and complex litigation and negotiation, torts, Federal and state trial appellate practice, intellectual property litigation, and employment law and litigation. Mr. Schmutz received both a BA and JD from Brigham Young University. |  |
Ron Heinz – Director
As Managing Director of Canopy Ventures, Ron Heinz oversees corporate investments and strategic direction. With more than two decades in the technology business, Mr. Heinz was the CEO of Helius, Inc. prior to assuming his current role. From 2000 to 2003, Ron was the CEO of Phobos Corporation, a Utah-based technology company that was acquired by SonicWALL of Sunnyvale, California (SNWL). Post-merger, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Sr. Vice President at SonicWALL. Prior to Phobos, Mr. Heinz spent 12 years at Novell Inc., serving as a Corporate Officer and Sr. Vice President his last 4 years. Prior to Novell, Mr. Heinz was employed at Xerox. He received a Bachelor of Science in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA in finance from American University. He has also participated in postgraduate work at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. |  |
Brandon Tidwell - Director
Brandon Tidwell is a Managing Director of Canopy Ventures. Mr. Tidwell has an extensive background in venture capital, corporate and securities law. Mr. Tidwell has counseled numerous entrepreneurs throughout the startup company process, first as an associate in the Silicon Valley office of Latham & Watkins and more recently with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll in Salt Lake City. Having advised on numerous venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings in his career, Mr. Tidwell brings a broad base of startup experience to bear on behalf of Canopy's portfolio companies. He has a B.S. and Masters degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and a JD from Columbia University. |  |
John Noorda - Director
John Noorda's background includes approximately 25 years of programming and other responsibilities with such companies as Calma/GE, IBM, McDonnell-Douglas, Matson Navigation and a number of smaller concerns. As the son of Novell icon, Ray Noorda, John was often called on to advise his father on technical and strategic issues related to Novell, as well as Noorda's other business interests and pursuits. Mr. Noorda has recently relocated to Utah to work with his family. John holds a BA in Economics from California State University at Fullerton. |  |
